Christian Aid Week 2019

12 - 18 May

Christian Aid has been working with refugees since 1945, and the need has never been greater. so please visit the Cathedral during the week and support this year's appeal.

This year the case study that Christian Aid is focusing on as an example of its work is Maternal Health in Sierra Leone.

In the Cathedral we will be doing the following -

In the pews on the 12, 19 and 26 May there will be gift envelopes for you to donate –if you are able please gift aid your donation. It gives more to Christian Aid at no extra cost to you.

On Sundays 12 and 19 May we will be collecting any unused Foreign currency you are willing to part with – ask your friends, family and work colleagues to give as well. Ideal for all declutterers!!

YouthXpress, our group for young people (Year 7 and above) will be running a book stall. All books will be priced £1

Also, on Sunday 19 May we will be hosting a Big Brekkie after the 9am Eucharist and a Bread and Cheese lunch after the 11am Choral Eucharist. These will be held in the Gary Weston library and most of the food will have been donated by generous friends in Borough Market. Please come along and talk to new people including some our friends from our link Cathedral in Rouen, sign a Christian Aid petition calling for the cancellation of Sierra Leone’s debt and most of all donate as generously as you can to the work of Christian Aid.
