Your security is very important to us
To ensure your visit to Southwark Cathedral is as safe as possible, we have made some changes to our security measures currently in place.
- Some doors and gates to the Cathedral grounds are presently closed so we recommend that our visitors use the entrance at the west end of Lancelot’s Link accessed from Cathedral Street or our accessible entrance via the Millennium Courtyard on the north side of the Cathedral on Montague Close.
- We strongly recommend that visitors do not bring bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm. If you have bags larger than this size you will need to keep them with you at all times. Please note we do not have any cloakroom facilities to store personal belongings.
- If you are attending an event or large service then it may take longer to access the Cathedral due to security searches being put in place. Please arrive early and anyone who declines to be searched will not be admitted.
Our security procedures are under constant review and may change at short notice. Please check our website on the day of your visit for up-to-date information and notices may also be sent out via our social media feeds.
We thank you for your understanding and co-operation, should you require any further information please call 020 7367 6700.
We look forward to welcoming you to Southwark Cathedral and hope you have a peaceful and enjoyable visit.
