The Messa da Requiem is a dramatic musical setting of the Catholic funeral mass for four soloists, double choir and orchestra. Giuseppe Verdi composed the Requiem in memory of Alessandrao Manzoni, an Italian poet and novelist.
Musical Director, Andrew Campling, said, “The choir is delighted to be celebrating its 25th anniversary by singing this awe-inspiring historic work in the beautiful setting of Southwark Cathedral.”
