This ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God. 2 Corinthians 9. 12

Please help us to maintain and secure Southwark Cathedral for future generations

It costs £4,500 per day to look after this beautiful and historic place of worship and we receive no government funding towards our normal running costs, which means we are reliant on voluntary donations and trading income to fund our huge range of activities and mission.

There are a number of ways you can make a donation to the Cathedral.

Online

You can make a donation, and Gift Aid if applicable, via the Charities Aid Foundation website here

By Text

You can also donate by text:

Regular Giving

Regular giving enables the Cathedral to be sure of its income, and plan accordingly, and also enables the giver to play a key part in the continued life and mission of Southwark Cathedral.

You can give by Standing Order direct from your bank account. Please complete the form and return it to the Cathedral Accountant by email or at the following address;

Please also enclose your Gift Aid form if applicable.

Give as you Earn

Many employers run 'Give as Your Earn' schemes. These benefit the Cathedral, as they are simple to administer (including reclaiming of Gift Aid) and they benefit you!

You don't pay any tax on the donations you make. If you are a basic rate taxpayer, a gift of £5 only costs you £4, so you can pass the tax relief on to the charity. Give As You Earn is particularly tax efficient for higher rate tax payers because every £10 given only costs you £6 of taxed income.

Give As You Earn is very flexible. You can give as much or as little as you like, and change how you give and who you give to whenever you like. To join Give As You Earn your employer will need to be running a scheme.

Further information is available at the Give As You Earn website here.

Gift Aid

Whichever way you choose to support Southwark Cathedral, if you are a UK tax payer please consider completing and returning a Gift Aid Declaration. This enables us to reclaim the tax on each of your donations at no cost to you but which does mean that we receive an additional 25p for every £1 you donate. For example, a gift of just £5 a week is worth £260 a year to the Cathedral, but this becomes £325 with gift aid.
